Pierre-Lagravère Park, a haven by the water
The large Pierre-Lagravère departmental park, still known to many as the Île Marante park, stretches over more than twenty-five hectares along the Seine. It was laid out in the 1970s on former islets, including the Île du Moulin-Joly, a very popular meeting place in the eighteenth century. Lawns, tall trees and backwaters make it an ideal setting for a gentle first date: you walk, sit down and take time to get to know each other.
A house where a tree took root
In the heart of the park, don’t miss the Park House, whose architecture recalls the eighteenth-century follies and whose roof has been pierced by a tree that grew inside the building. A surprising curiosity, perfect for starting a conversation. Sporty types will also enjoy the nearby sports centre, for a jog or a game of tennis together, before a break in the shade.
Nine kilometres of walking along the Seine
From the park, a long path of about nine kilometres follows the Seine to Rueil-Malmaison, on foot or by bike. These riverbanks inspired the Impressionist painters, and you can see why at the end of the day, when the light settles on the water. A bike ride to the Fournaise Museum, on the Île des Impressionnistes, makes for a romantic outing. On Lyad, members from Colombes share their favourite green spots; it is up to you to find your walking partner.
